HALAL Certified ICE Cream in ASAKUSA! MUST TRY!

Ice creams are loved by everyone whether kids or adults. And soft serves are the best among all ice creams. Now, Muslims can enjoy Halal certified ice creams. In ASAKUSA, about 2-minute walking distance from the Asakusa station, a Halal certified ice cream shop is located.

It is a green tea shop named MASUDAEN SOHONTEN. The store has a wide selection of tea produced in different regions in Japan. This store has been there since 1867. They have Halal certified ice creams too. The Halal certificate is placed just at the front of the Ice cream window. The Japanese man at this shop is very friendly. He explains when asked about Halal so he shows the certificate and talks about ice cream flavours too. The shop has 4 flavours of soft serve, vanilla, matcha, roasted tea and vanilla mixed with matcha. Their roasted tea ice cream’s ingredient is just in the shop, tea is roasted just in front of you in some kind of machine.

I visited them on a public holiday, and the store was very crowded. Many people were buying tea from their shop and other items. But I was more interested in their Halal ice cream which looked amazing. I wanted to try vanilla flavour so I ordered vanilla. It was just 350 Yen and no tax. So cheap! Within a few minutes amazing ice cream was in my hands. The vanilla flavoured ice cream was not white it was a little creamish colour not even off-white. When I ate the ice cream I was at the top of the World. The vanilla flavour was so rich, creamy, delicious and full of amazing vanilla taste. It was one of the best soft serves I ever had or the original taste of vanilla without any artificial flavours added. The shopkeeper was so nice, he also handed me the Muslim Asakusa guide pamphlet in which many things where mentioned a complete guide through which Muslims can enjoy around Asakusa. After finishing my ice cream, I craved for more and I bought one more vanilla ice cream because it was too good.

This store is perfect for people who love to buy Japanese teas and yes for those who love ice creams. Muslims can enjoy it as its Halal and will not stop craving for more.
