Cheap HALAL Food Shop Next to Takeshita Street (Harajuku)

Takeshita is a pedestrian shopping street lined with fashion boutiques, cafes and restaurants in Harajuku in Tokyo. Although there are a lot of places to explore, even the restaurants, still Halal is hard to find. But luckily there is a shop in Harajuku, a very well-known shop which is Halal. The name of the shop is KEBAB BOX J. It is very near to Takeshita Street and about 2-minute walk from Meiji Jingumae subway station and 5-minute walk from Harajuku station. There are a total of 4 shops which are just next to each other. One is Kebab box J (kebab shop), J Box (cheese dog, fried chicken and long fries shop), J banana (banana milkshake shop) and J curry (Indian curry shop). There is also an eat in space at the back of the store or inside the building COXY188. The owner is from Turkey and Muslim.

Everything at their shop is Halal certified. They have excellent flavour and they put generous amounts of meat in their kebabs. They also have vegetarian options in kebab which is falafel in their kebabs. The prices are very pocket friendly. Everything usually starts from 500 Yen. It is a very popular shop around Harajuku and often crowded. They have very friendly staff.

The day I visited I ordered their fried Korean cheese potato dog (a fried cheese stick with potato on it) and when I saw their other shop which was just inside it had curries but I ordered a bread from there. A long French bread. Well in the picture it looked like garlic bread but when it was served it was just sliced and had butter on it. So, I was a bit not satisfied. I guess they might change the picture. But no doubt the bread was good and Halal, a long French bread. You can eat the bread along with the curries they serve or can take it home. Well, I just tried a little and asked them to pack it so that I could enjoy it at home. And about their Korean cheese dog, it was good too.

It is a must to stop by this shop in Harajuku which is very famous because of its food and welcoming staff. I will surely be trying their popular kebabs next time.They do have delivery services also. So, can also place an order online through their website or any other delivery applications like Uber eats, Demaecan etc.
