Yamamotoya Okute - Nagoya’s Halal Gem
Written by KHAN| 2022-08-10| Halal Food in Japan
One of the highlights of my Nagoya trip back in 2021 was Yamamotya Okute. I still can’t forget the mouthwatering taste of the Halal Chicken wings and Handmade udon at that restaurant. Probably that was my favorite meal in Nagoya.
The history of Yamamotoya dates back to the Taisho era. This amazing restaurant continues to preserve the traditional taste for five generations. The establishment of the restaurant dates back to 1918.
Yamamotoya has delicious Halal dishes starting from Halal Fried Chicken Wings, Halal Miso Udon, Halal Nori Flavored Fried Chicken, Halal Tempura, Desserts, etc. The restaurant also uses Shigaraki ware clay pots for their udon dishes which is supposed to enhance the taste of the dish. The current head chef was really nice and friendly, he came outside the kitchen to meet me and share insights about the restaurant.
The restaurant has a calm environment. You can also learn a lot about Japanese culture from this restaurant as this is a very old restaurant and they have several Japanese cultural items on show. This restaurant also provides vegan-friendly mushroom-flavored miso nikomi udon.
If you are visiting Nagoya and want to taste some really good authentic Halal Japanese food, Yamamotoya is your best choice. You can’t go wrong with this decision!
