Asakusa is one of thre biggest tourist attractions in Tokyo and it has a lot of Halal Restaurants, Grocery shops and Mosques as well as Muslim-friendly facilities.
Asakusa retains the vibe of an older Tokyo, with traditional craft shops and street food stalls along Nakamise street near the ancient Sensoji-Temple. It is one of the most vibrant districts. Every year more than a million people come and visit Asakusa. It can also be the best destination for Muslims considering all the Muslim-friendly options. Here are some recommended spots:

TOKIWADO KAMINARI-OKOSHI HONPO

When you visit Sensoji temple you will see a big souvenir shop just at the left side of the main gate of Sensoji temple named TOKIWADO. Here you can get Halal-certified souvenirs at very reasonable prices and in various kinds. This shop sells rice crisps in 6-8 different flavors in different packages and many of them are Halal certified with the Halal mark over them. The prices start from 500YEN and go up to 3000 yen depending on the gms and packages.

Confectionary Shop

If you want to try Asakusa’s special red bean paste castella cakes then must visit the Nakamise shopping street which starts just after entering the Senso-Ji temple. The very first shop at your left is the shop you need to stop by to try the amazing Muslim-friendly cute shaped cakes. They sell Muslim-friendly castella cakes in 3-4 cute shapes which are filled with crushed or paste of red beans and are very cheap 70 Yen for one amazing cake.

Street Food

In Japan fruit candies (fruit covered in sugar syrup) are very famous and are often found at different festivals and popular sightseeing areas. They have now become street food in Japan. The shop is just inside Nakamise street and here you can enjoy 2 kinds of Muslim-friendly fruit candies in strawberry or strawberry with grapes for just 500Yen.

Asakusa Sushi Ken

If you are a Japanese sushi lover and want to eat something so here you can get Halal-certified sushi and other Japanese cuisines at very reasonable prices the restaurant prepares fresh sushi just in front of you and you can enjoy watching the food being prepared in front of you.

It is also a Japanese fancy restaurant that offers Muslim friendly Halal menu separately. Here you can enjoy a proper lunch course or food like soba, tendon, skewers, etc. They are very famous because many tourists visit them to experience great Japanese cuisine.

If you are worried about the praying place in Asakusa then just 18 min walk away from Senso-Ji temple there is a proper mosque where men and women both can pray with ease as there are complete wudhu and toilet facilities also available.
