Enjoy Authentic Halal Japanese Food in Asakusa! Gonpachi

Asakusa can be counted as the heart of Tokyo for foreigners! Sensoji, a well-known Buddhist temple founded in the seventh century, is Asakusa's biggest attraction. The Nakamise, a shopping street that has provided temple visitors with a variety of traditional, regional delicacies and tourist trinkets for decades, is used to access the temple.

For Muslim travelers, some of the big attractions are the Halal and Muslim-friendly restaurants and food stalls around Asakusa. One of the most popular restaurants for tourists is the Gonpachi restaurant which provides Halal Japanese rice bowls with Ebi Tempura and other authentic Japanese dishes! As Japan recently opened its borders to international tourists, Asakusa was filled with tourists when we went there. We saw that Gonapchi was also really busy with foreign customers and we had to reserve the table for lunch. The service from the staff was really friendly and they gave us a nice table facing the Tokyo Skytreee and the Asahi fire statue.

The staff gave us a Halal menu and we ordered the Edomae Ebisu Tendon which is Shrimp Tempura served over rice and the Gonpachi Tendon which is Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura served over rice. The Gonpachi Tendon was 1,628 yen and the Ebi tendon was 1,408 yen including taxes. The set included tofu and soup as well. All the dishes here are 100% Halal and they also use Halal sauce in the dish.

The taste of the food was great. The whole set was prepared fresh and the tempura was so crunchy outside and soft inside. We also enjoyed the great view ahead of us. Boats were passing in the river as well as jet skis. Please don’t forget to book your seat before going.
