HALAL RESTAURANT in IKEBUKURO

Turkey is known as delicious cuisine. In Japan, also many Turkish restaurants are opened and many of them are Halal.


In Ikebukuro, where is one of Tokyo’s multiple city center, there is one restaurant is named TURKUAZ. It is a Turkish restaurant which is just 2-3 minutes from west exit of Ikebukuro Station. It is located in small street yet you could see the signboard of the shop from the main road. It is a 2-story restaurant and they have about 50 seats. Their menu has all the authentic dishes of Turkey. I was very happy to see that it is a 100 % Halal restaurant.
I was there with my son and I wanted to try something that my son can also enjoy. So, from their lunch menu I ordered a Turkish style set.


I was served with lentil soup first, then pita bread, salad and my set were served. Starting from the soup it was a mild flavor soup or you can say flavorless lentil soup which had a flavor of peppers only. To be honest, I didn’t like it much. The bread was amazing and coming to the main dish, there were 4 different type of sauces on my plate.


I tried them one by one. The first sauce was kind of eggplant, second was Humus, third was spinach with yoghurt and fourth was the best little spicy but it was surely blended with tomatoes with some nuts.
I really enjoyed my lunch, I loved everything except the soup. When I had my lunch, I was about to leave but the staff told me that the Tea is remaining. I had Turkish tea as well in my lunch set. I really didn’t notice the menu include it. But later I was served with hot Turkish tea in a small cup. Tea was good.
They have a good sitting arrangement and very good behaving staff. A recommended restaurant in Ikebukuro for Turkish food lovers.
