Delicious Dahi Poori at Halal Veg Kitchen in Okachimachi

Okachimachi is an area on the JR Yamanote line, just south of the major Ueno station. This area has a lot of restaurants, shops and cafes, most of which are Indian. Luckily, I found a Halal spot very near to the station. VEG KITCHEN is a vegan restaurant but they do have some non-veg items as well. They are very famous around the Okachimachi area. It is an Indian restaurant and mostly the staff is from India which makes authentic Indian cuisines at their restaurant. They are Halal certified and they are located very near to AS-SALAM Mosque as well. So, it's very easy to access by train as well as it is very near to Okachimachi station.
The day I visited it was very much packed with customers, I had to wait for a few minutes to get my seat. They had a good big menu and a separate menu for lunch hours. But I was craving something else from their dinner menu. I ordered a Dahi poori from their menu. And within 20 minutes I got my order. The staff told me before ordering that it might take a little time. The Dahi poori looked so good. They don’t give extra sour water separately for the dish. The staff explained to me that each and every sauce is in that poori. The spices and sauces were just right and had a very authentic taste. It was the best Dahi poori I ever had in Japan. Perfect balanced sauces and spices were in that poori, not overloaded at all. It was sweet and spicy at the same time. The price of their Dahi poori was good too, just 550 Yen.
My overall experience at this restaurant was good. The staff were so friendly and so warm and welcoming. They are kid friendly too. They respect each and every one of their customers. I will give it 4 stars out of five for delicious food and its authenticity.
