Halal’ is an Arabic word meaning ‘lawful’ and ‘permissible’ in accordance with Islamic Sharia law. Halal certificates are only issued to reliable shops, which offer menus excluding any foodstuff and seasoning forbidden under Islam, using halal-specific tableware and cooking utensils and even conforming to Islam requirements for storage.
