Halal Bread at Shin Okubo National Mart - Halal Food in Japan BLOG

Shin-Okubo station is one of the most visited places by Muslims from different communities. It is just one station from Shinjuku station. As it is also known as Muslim Street/Islamic Street. Shin-Okubo streets are lined with halal grocery stores and restaurants. It is popular for getting Halal-certified meat and ethnic ingredients from other countries. If you are in Shinokubo you may forget that you are in Japan as you can see many food shops big and small, too many vegetable shops and other shops selling items at cheap prices as compared to other ordinary shops.

Almost every shop at Shinokubo sells many HALAL food items and meat. But there is only one shop in Shinokubo where Muslims can find HALAL bread. NATIONAL MART is a very famous grocery store that started to sell different kinds of HALAL BREAD at their stores. Halal bread is very difficult to find in Japan. At all local stores in Japan, Halal bread is unable to find and we cannot even guarantee the ingredients and the process of their making bread-related products because we cannot assure any cross contamination of the products with Haram bread. It is better to avoid such things where there is no assurity of Muslim friendly or Halal. But now Muslims can get different kinds of Halal bread which are made from Halal ingredients in Tokyo only at National mart. The shop is just few minute walk from the shinokubo station. They sell many kinds of bread at their store. They sell a normal loaf of bread for 350 Yen, submarine bread (2 in a pack), and burger buns for 300/ 350 yen (5 in a pack). And now they started selling some plain for 350 yen (4 in a box), chocolate bread /croissant for 750 Yen (15 in a box), and dinner rolls for 500 Yen (10 in a pack). And they all are fresh every day at their stores. And those people who are far from Tokyo and cannot visit their stores for Halal bread can get the bread from their website also.

Slowly and gradually JAPAN is getting Muslim-friendly and many Halal food items now can be found very easily in Japan. Now, most Japanese stores also offer Halal options and many Japanese restaurants are getting Halal certified which is a good sign for our Muslim community living in Japan.
